Although only slightly better than the first, Detective Chinatown 2 does have a few more key sequences that are truly funny and intriguing - whether it's setting up the evil super-detective as our heroes' Moriarity, some fun comedic set pieces, and a few semi-self referential moments ("We don't have time for product placement!") Watching the main characters run around New York trying to solve a murder mystery and landing themselves in ridiculous situations is worth watching.
