This month our Tweenies and Pre-school children took a trip down to the local fire station. To celebrate their time at Nursery, the Pre-school children put on their graduation gowns, smiled for the camera and then put on a performance to make us grin from ear to ear! Using some of the collected leaves, the children were able to do some lovely printing by painting the leaf and then pressing this onto paper - the results really fascinated the children and we ended up with some lovely creative work. Breakfast Club was held on Wednesday 28th July and as always was a lovely morning, with some delicious breads and pastries as well as fruit, cereals and yoghurts ~ a real treat for everyone! They decided it was time for them to retire, and that they had achieved everything that they aimed for with their nursery. After feeding the bulls and stroking the donkey, the children took a stroll down to the duck pond to see the ducks and to practise their 'quacking'. Many of you will know that Michelle Davey left for maternity leave last year to have her baby boy, Oliver. Afterwards, a spread of delicious treats helped us to continue our celebrations and gave the staff and parents a great opportunity to reflect over the previous months and years. Thank you to James' mummy who kindly paid us a visit with their guinea pigs - the children had a great time learning about how to care for animals this month, and a lovely way to end the month was petting and holding those adorable guinea pigs. Graves Park ~ The Tweenies went on their trip to Graves Park in Sheffield this month. They aim to continue to operate the nursery to the high standards that it’s client base are accustomed to. Pre-School really showed the rest of the audience just how to sing 'Rudolph the red nosed reindeer'. If you are able to donate food, we are able to accept all packet, dried and tinned food. Not only do the children learn all about Harvest and collect books from the library to extend their interest, but they also get to collect and deliver our harvest hamper to homeless shelter's such as Pathways or food banks. Staff and parents donated some lovely cupcakes, muffins and biscuits to sell and we managed to raise a massive £72.90. Autumn seems to have sneaked up on us very quickly this year, and so we have swapped our seaside and summer displays for the branch and leaf displays filled with beautiful Autumn colours. It was such a pleasure to see their faces and watch them joining in with various songs and dance moves. We had lots of families join us on this morning to enjoy their breakfast with their child and then to stay and play afterwards.
