The Japanese poet says, "This could be a poem by William Carlos Williams." The japanese man... travelled to Paterson, following his passion. And, indeed, that is … Paterson movie is for every poet out there, who is invariably humming the hidden metres of life. It's such a marked contrast. That is all this film is about and we are told, point blank, at the end of the movie: the Japanese poet asks Paterson if he, too, is a poet.
